End of show.

My Take: The Texas crowd was really pumped up to start the show which is always a good thing. A hot crowd makes for a fun show I have come to realize throughout the years. Disco Inferno is either really over or the fans were happy to see a match rather quickly on the show. Inferno is entertaining but I can’t believe that he is incredibly over with the crowd like the reaction would make it seem.

Hennig being kicked out of the New World Order isn’t a big deal. There is over a dozen members in the group so they need to get rid of a few. I would be interested in seeing Hennig maybe turn face. We will soon find out where Hennig is headed.

I actually enjoyed the Bigelow/Hall ladder match. It was given a good amount of time and they did quite a few spots that I simply didn’t expect to see. So, kudos for those two doing that on Nitro. I only wish their was a clear cut winner. Hall should’ve just gone over and then have Goldberg come out and clean house. It is really a simple concept.

Bret Hart interview was nicely done. The El Dandy line is one of the lines Hart is best known for throughout his WCW run. I don’t think that is necessarily a good thing, though.

Faces of Fear have an awesome finishing move. Their match was just a slugfest and rather boring.

Norman Smiley is clearly over with the WCW fans. Smiley needs to be pushed and pushed as a baby face. I’m liking Saturn more and more by every show. Saturn is really talented and is making the dress angle work while it doesn’t hurt his image all that much.

I’ve read reports that people found the Bret Hart vs. Booker T match to be boring. I thought it was a good television match. It had action and it helps Booker come across as a possible threat to the United States Championship. If Booker is given another pay per view match against Bret Hart for the title at Superbrawl that could be one hell of a match.

Wasn’t a fan of Norton getting quite a bit of offense on Goldberg. That match should have been a simple squash for Goldberg and ended within two minutes.

Very happy to see a main event given plenty of time. It is also fantastic that Benoit was able to work with both Hogan and Nash a little bit during the match. Fans were very happy to see Benoit chopping Hogan and whatnot. Benoit has the creditability of being a ass kicker and could be a fresh face for Team WCW to go after the main event players for the New World Order. Again, I just wish their could have been a finish. I mean, when was the last time Mongo was on television? He couldn’t have eaten the pin? C’mon now.

Overall, it was a good show. Their wasn’t much I hated as the in-ring wrestling was pretty good. Enjoyable show by WCW!

Thanks for reading.
