AAA: Verano de Escandalo -September 16, 2007
by Sassy

This two DVD set is highly recommend for its lucha libre and hardcore matches. Even if you can’t speak Spanish, the matches are entertaining and will make you a fan of lucha libre.

Everyone is going to have to give me a break. First of all, I don’t speak Spanish. Second of all, I can’t get any AAA shows (or any wrestling shows out of Mexico) on my Time Warner Cable without paying big bucks for extra Spanish channels. Everything I have seen to date has been on YouTube or other sites that have lucha libre matches.

My interest in AAA and lucha libre came about due to the appearance of Judas Mesias in TNA. Judas Mesias has worked in AAA as Meurte Cibernetica, Asesor Cibernetica and El Mesias. And yes, he is in a match on this DVD.

Disc 1

First Match: Pirata Morgan, Alfa, Faby Apache & Mini Chessman Vs. Aero Star, Rey Cometa, Estrellita & Octagoncito

Winners:
Pirata Morgan, Alfa, Faby Apache & Mini Chessman

Mini Chessman is already in the ring as Pirata Morgan and the rest of the team are announced. Alfa has flowers in his hand for Faby Apache and, even though the language is Spanish, I think he has the hots for Faby Apache. He gets down on one knee and she takes the flowers and gives him a hug.

I’m already confused and the match hasn’t started. This is lucha libre with eight wrestlers in the ring, two of them being women. Estrellita and Faby lock up in the middle of the ring. It is nice to see that they can and do wrestle. Faby may have a little weight on Estrellita. Mini Chessman is in the ring and is taken down by Octagoncito with a flying head scissors from the top rope. The two end up on the floor with Mini Chessman getting the worst of it. We now have Alfa and Aero Star in the ring and out of the ring. These wrestlers do spend a lot of time on the floor. That isn’t a complaint. They work just as hard outside the ring as they do inside the ring. I am working under the assumption that this match is true lucha libre and if one member of the team goes out on the floor, another member can enter the ring without actually tagging in. Aero Star is back up on the ring apron. Morgan has entered the ring and is met by Cometa. Morgan is much larger than Cometa. In fact, Morgan is bigger than everyone else in this match. Morgan acts like he is going to jump from the second rope onto Cometa, but he gets down and delivers a solid kick instead. Cometa does a lot of flying around the ring and onto the ropes and manages to send Morgan rolling out to the floor. Cometa follows Morgan out and sends him into the guardrail surrounding the audience. Cometa appears to have injured his arm or hand during the dive and we see a replay from a different camera angle. He seems to have gotten it twisted when he hit Morgan. The two women are now back in the ring. As Estrellita is working on Faby and has her down on the mat, Alfa enters and has Estrellita. Faby is back on her feet and she shoves Alfa who shrugs, then they both turn on Estrellita. Estrellita manages to send Faby out of the ring with an arm drag and takes Alfa down with a flying head scissors. She heads for her side of the ring and Mini Chessman is taken down by Aero Star who comes over the ropes to meet him. Aero Star takes Chessman down with a power bomb and goes for a pin but Morgan is out with a drop kick to Aero Star’s head. Chessman rolls out of the ring, Aero Star rolls toward his side of the ring and Morgan is met by a dropkick from Cometa. Cometa’s luck doesn’t last as Morgan picks him up and throws him over the top rope to the floor. Alfa has gone across the ring and uses his elbow to knock Estrellita down to the floor. Octagoncito is now in the ring facing Alfa. Chessman and Faby are in the ring as Alfa flips Octagoncito up into the air and the waiting Morgan. Morgan delivers an inverted atomic drop. Chessman and Faby follow up with baseball slide kicks to the head. Aero Star attempts to enter the ring to help Octagoncito but is met by Morgan with a boot. It’s four on one as Aero Star is send into a ring post and receives a clothesline from Chessman, an elbow from Morgan, and then is sent into the middle of the ring to receive a drop kick from Faby. Its’ still four on one as Alfa picks up Aero Star and body slams him to the mat. Morgan comes off the top turnbuckle to drop an elbow to Aero Star’s midsection. Aero Star rolls out of the ring and Estrellita is now in the ring. She is taken down to the mat by the four members of the opposing team who are still all in the ring. Estrellita goes out to the floor and Cometa is coming back into the ring on the opposite side. Cometa is met by Morgan who does not allow Cometa to get to his feet before delivering blows to the back. Alfa now has Cometa down on the mat punching him while Chessman and Faby deliver kicks. Alfa and Morgan confer about something in the middle of the ring. Estrellita is on the floor trying to get the fans motivated while Faby and Chessman exit the ring and go out to the apron. Alfa is now in the ring alone with Cometa who is trying to get back on his feet. Alfa sends Cometa into the ropes and Cometa comes off to work Alfa into a sunset flip, but Alfa rolls out. There is a slam like someone hitting the canvas but the camera was on the audience and when it pans back to the ring, Cometa is down on the mat again. Cometa delivers a back breaker to Alfa, and then Aero Star is in the ring to send Alfa back down to the mat. Estrellita enters the ring, comes off the ropes and delivers a dropkick to Alfa’s chest that sends Alfa rolling out of the ring and down to the floor. Faby is now in the ring and Estrellita sends her to the mat with a dropkick. Faby rolls out on the floor and Estrellita is met by Octagonito who sends her over the top ropes and onto the apron ring. Estrellita leaps out to the floor to take out Alfa and Faby at the same time. Morgan is now in the ring with Octagoncito. Aero Star and Cometa enter the ring and Chessman is standing behind them. As Morgan comes at them with a boot, they move out of the way and Morgan catches Chessman with the boot. Cometa uses a head scissors to take Morgan down to the mat. Morgan rolls out of the ring and Aero Star and Cometa do a joint suicide dive to take Morgan back into the guardrail. Octagoncito is now in the ring with Chessman and he takes Chessman to the mat with an arm drag. He again takes Chessman down and Chessman rolls out of the ring. Octagoncito delivers a spinning corkscrew off the apron ring and onto Chessman, taking him down to the floor. Cometa and Alfa are now in the ring and Cometa goes for a roll up pin. He gets a two count before Alfa kicks out. He again goes for the roll up pin and again gets a two count. Cometa body slams Alfa to the mat and climbs up to the top turnbuckle. As Cometa does a somersault flip of the top rope, Alfa rolls out of the way and Cometa meets the mat. Alfa picks up Cometa and drops him on the back of his head and goes for the cover and gets the three count.

After the match, Faby Apache takes the mic and is speaking to Alfa who is still in the ring. Alfa removes his mask, gets down on his knees and we have smooching in the middle of the ring. I swear I didn’t hear his name from either of the announcers. I’ll have to look that one up. After the kissing session, the referee raises both of their hands in the middle of the ring.

After a little research, I discovered that Alfa was really Billy Boy and if my sources were correct he and Faby Apache are married in real life.

While I am trying to do a play by play of these matches I have to be honest and tell you that I may have missed quite a few moves in and out of the ring. It is difficult to keep up with the action of this many people involved in a match and even tougher when you aren’t familiar with lucha libre or the wrestlers involved in the match. I suggest to be sure you don’t miss a second of the action in this DVD that you get a copy for yourself. There is plenty of action in this match and it will give you an idea of how tough AAA women are in the ring.

We see Ron Killings on the screen and at the bottom of the screen it says: AAA vs. Legion Extranjera

Second Match: Antifaz, Psicosis, Histeria & Mr. Niebla (Viper Revolution) Vs. Juventud Guerrera, Extreme Tiger, Crazy Boy & Joe Lider (Mexican Powers)

Winners:
Mexican Powers

I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep up with this match. Everyone with the exception of Juventud is wearing a mask and each team is wearing similar or the same colors. We have action inside and outside of the ring, including at the top of the entrance area, in the crowd and by the guardrail. The Mexican Powers seem to be taking most of the hits, as all of them appear to be down. The fans don’t hesitate to try to get the wrestlers back to their feet and into the ring area. Someone has lost a mask. It appears to be Joe Lider who is in the ring with Antifaz. He gets a chair to the head while we see in the upper balcony Juventud being worked on by a member of the Viper Revolution. Joe Lider is being worked on by three members of the Viper Revolution; Juventud is trying to make his way back to the ring and manages to roll over the guardrail. Joe is still getting worked over in the ring. Juventud makes it into the ring but isn’t there long as he rolls back out to the floor. Another member of Mexican Powers has landed in the audience seating area and Juventud is being worked over by all four members of Viper Revolution. Joe is back in the ring but he is quickly down on the mat. Crazy Boy is outside the ring trying to get the audience fired up, Joe is getting the worst of the beating inside the ring. Juventud is back in but he is surrounded by the four members of Viper Revolution and he is again back down on the mat. Viper Revolution now has steel chairs in the ring, which they don’t hesitate to use on a downed Juventud. All four members of Viper Revolution are large men and well built. Juventud manages to duck a chair and suddenly the Mexican Powers are standing strong in the ring. We see suicide dives out onto the floor to drop the members of Viper Revolution. Juventud does a tremendous leap onto one of his adversaries on the floor. Extreme Tiger is now in the ring and he slides out to the floor. Histeria slides out after him, but Tiger meets him with a dropkick sending him into a cameraman near the guardrail. Mexican Powers have set Histeria up in chairs on the floor as Tiger goes back into the ring and up onto the top turnbuckle. Tiger delivers a somersault onto Histeria, taking him and the chairs down to the floor. Antifaz is now in the ring with Crazy Boy and Juventud and it’s now three on one as Joe is back in the ring. One of the Viper Revolution members enters the ring with a chair but is met with a boot by Crazy Boy who now has possession of the chair. Juventud plays the fans as Crazy Boy sets up Psicosis on the chair and Joe climbs to the top turnbuckle. Joe comes off the top and takes out Psicosis with a double boot landing. Niebla enters the ring and nails Juventud then Crazy Boy and then Joe. Niebla stops to do a little showing off but the three Mexican Powers members are back on their feet and all three go on the attack. Crazy Boy nails him in the head with a chair and Juventud delivers a leg drop from the top rope, goes for the cover and gets the three count.

Another great match with a lot of high-risk action.

The screen now shows a dome match and says: Hell Brother’s vs. Secta Del Mesias

Crazy Boy, Joe Lider and Juventud Guerrera are still in the ring. We seem to have lost Extreme Tiger somewhere. He hasn’t been back in the ring since that dive onto the chairs.

At the top of the entrance ramp, Halloween appears. He enters the ring and faces Juventud who trash talks him in the middle of the ring. Juventud is trying to get the fans behind him but Halloween is not impressed. Juventud makes the mistake of turning his back on Halloween and when he turns back around, he is met with a spear. Joe and Crazy Boy go after Halloween but he takes them down to the mat with a flying double clothesline. He then teams up with Viper Revolution who has entered the ring and uses the lights to take out the members of Mexican Powers. Joe gets glass in his back when he is smashed against the ring post and a light. Halloween takes the mic and does a lot of yelling. Juventud’s shoulder is bleeding as well. Whatever he is saying the fans and the Mexican Powers are not agreeing with him. NOTE: Something printed on Halloween’s shirt is blocked out by the camera. I have not seen what it said so I can’t tell you what was blocked. Halloween and Viper Revolution leave the ring and the arena, Extreme Tiger reappears and Mexican Powers are left standing in the ring.

There are several reruns of this match and the appearance of Halloween in the ring.

Ron Killings again and AAA vs. Legion Extranjera, including Kenzo Suzuki, Alicia Webb, and Sean Waltman.

There are some film clips in here which, of course, I can’t understand but I can tell you that some lucky girl was stuck in the ring with two great bodies and she was putting oil all over them…I didn’t know THAT was part of lucha libre!

AAA has action figures and we see a line up of what is available including La Parka and Latin Lover. Third Match: Ron “The Truth” Killings, Kenzo Suzuki & X Pac (w/Alicia Webb) & Abismo Negro Vs. Laredo Kid, Ricky Marvin, La Parka & Latin Lover

Winners:
Laredo Kid, Ricky Marvin, La Parka & Latin Lover

NOTE; Killings entrance music is “What’s Up” and X Pac’s is “D Generation X”. While Killings and Suzuki avoided contact with the fans, X Pac does stop to slap a few hands on his way to the ring. Abismo Negro brings an aerosol can and lighter and stops to ignite the area around him on his way to the ring. La Parka’s entrance theme is “Thriller” and the audience goes wild when he enters the arena. I don’t know what entrance theme Latin Lover uses but he does do a semi striptease when he enters the arena. I have seen Killings, Suzuki and X Pac in matches before but never together in the ring. I am not familiar with any of the Mexican wrestlers here but believe that La Parka has the biggest fan following with Latin Lover, Laredo Kid and Marvin coming in a close second. Abismo Negro obviously is not going to be a fan favorite siding with the heels in this match up. It appears that X Pac is he captain of his team and La Parka is the captain of his team.

X Pac faces off against Laredo Kid in the middle of the ring. A dropkick sends X Pac out to the floor and he moves quickly out of the way before Laredo Kid can come over the top rope after him. Laredo Kid tags in Marvin and Killings is in the ring for the other side. Killings gets a lot of heat from the fans but that doesn’t slow him down. He has Marvin down and is punching him but Marvin comes back and takes Killings down to the mat with a head scissors. Killings rolls out of the ring and Abismo Negro is in to face Marvin. Marvin comes off the ropes to take Abismo Negro down and out of the ring with another head scissors and then starts to suicide dive, but Abismo Negro moves out of the way and Marvin bounces off the ropes and back into the ring. Marvin waves in another member of the opposite team and then turns to tag in La Parka. Suzuki enters the ring for the other side. La Parka delivers a proper Japanese bow to Suzuki but when Suzuki returns the bow, La Parka delivers a kick to the chest. La Parka throws in some slick moves before he takes Suzuki down to the mat with a neck breaker. La Parka is back on his feet and Abismo Negro enters the ring behind La Parka. Abismo Negro nails La Parka and then beats him down. La Parka comes back and takes Abismo Negro down to the mat. La Parka is great at using his legs for high kicks. La Parka tags in Latin Lover who plays up the fans before facing off with Abismo Negro. Abismo Negro tries to get the fans behind him but it doesn’t work. Abismo Negro and Latin Lover throw a few punches at each other before Latin Lover sends Abismo Negro down to the mat. Latin Lover uses a clothesline to take Abismo Negro down again and goes for the cover but he can’t get the three count. Latin Lover takes Abismo Negro and himself over the top rope with a clothesline. Laredo Kid enters the ring to face X Pac who is hesitant to get in the ring. X Pac delivers a kick and then beats down Laredo Kid. We now have several men in the ring battling it out. Abismo Negro has Marvin down and X Pac has Laredo Kid down delivering punches to his face and head. Latin Lover has Alicia Webb outside on the floor with his hands on her neck and Killings goes out to help her. X Pac is right behind Killings and they both work on Latin Lover. Abismo Negro soon joins them. Now it’s Killings and Abismo Negro working on Latin Lover outside the ring as X Pac enters the ring and goes after Laredo Kid who is still down on the mat. Suzuki is outside working on La Parka near the guardrail surrounding the audience. The audience is offering chairs to Suzuki (he may have asked for them and I didn’t see it) and there are now chairs in the ring. Marvin gets a chair shot to the head as Suzuki nails La Parka with a chair. Abismo Negro and Marvin are in the ring, Killings is working on Latin Lover outside the ring, X Pac slams Laredo Kid into a ring post outside the ring. X Pac now has a chair and is working on La Parka outside the ring. Suzuki delivers a running chair shot to Laredo Kid that sends him over the guardrail and into the audience seating area. X Pac throws La Parka into a ring post outside the ring and Abismo Negro is still inside the ring working on Marvin. Suzuki is back on the ring apron playing the crowd and then he is inside the ring to nail Marvin in the head with a chair. X Pac is choking La Parka with a chair outside the ring. Latin Lover is now chasing Alicia around the outside of the ring. Abismo Negro and a steel chair get in the middle and Latin Lover backs up with his hands in the air. Abismo Negro responds by nailing Latin Lover in the abdomen with the chair. Killings, Suzuki, Marvin and Laredo Kid are in the ring and the ref is telling Killings to get out of the ring, which he does. Abismo Negro is still working over Latin Lover with the chair outside the ring. Abismo Negro enters the ring to help Suzuki with Marvin as Killings enters the ring again to take on Laredo Kid. Abismo Negro nails Marvin in the head with a chair and X Pac has entered the ring to help Killings work on Laredo Kid. Latin Lover is back to his feet on the floor, attempting to help La Parka back to his feet. Abismo Negro, Suzuki, X Pac and Killings are all in the ring. Abismo Negro goes after Laredo Kid with a chair, but Laredo Kid ducks and Abismo Negro nails X Pac on the head. Laredo Kid comes back with a drop kick that sends Abismo Negro to the mat. Laredo Kid comes off the top turnbuckle and nails X Pac, sending him crashing into the guardrail. Killings is in the ring with Marvin. Marvin drop Killings with a dropkick. Latin Lover enters the ring to face Abismo Negro. Again Latin Lover works the fans to get them behind him. Abismo Negro and Latin Lover hit each other with simultaneous clotheslines then both are back on their feet. Latin Lover stops to show off and is caught by Abismo Negro. Latin Lover takes Abismo Negro and himself over the top rope and to the floor. Killings is now in the ring working over Marvin. Killings drops Marvin to the mat with a face plant and goes for the pin but only gets a two count. Killings goes into the ropes, Marvin follows him, slides out to the floor, grabs Killings leg and trips him, sending him crashing to the mat. Marvin comes off the second rope with a frog splash and goes for the cover but only gets a two count before Killings gets a shoulder off the mat. Marvin rolls Killings up but still can’t get the win. Marvin goes up on the top turnbuckle but ends up taking out Suzuki who has tried to enter the ring. Killings delivers a jawbreaker to Marvin and Abismo Negro follows up with a kick to the face. They deliver double kicks to Marvin’s head. X Pac and Suzuki enter the ring to make it four on one but as they back up to the ropes, they are taken down to the mat and out of the ring by Marvin’s team. La Parka is now back on his feet outside the ring. Laredo Kid comes off the top rope and takes down Killings and Abismo Negro. Killings and Abismo Negro roll out of the ring but Laredo Kid follows with a suicide dive to take out Abismo Negro and Marvin takes down Killings with a corkscrew. La Parka is in the ring checking on his teammates but Suzuki is behind him. Latin Lover is trying to tell La Parka to watch his back and is beating on the mat outside the ring. La Parka turns around in time to receive a blow from Suzuki that drops him to the mat. La Parka tries to take Suzuki down with clotheslines off the ropes but Suzuki doesn’t go down. La Parka comes off the ropes with a boot to the face that sends Suzuki into the ropes. La Parka goes back against the ropes and delivers a clothesline that sends himself and Suzuki over the top rope and to the floor. Laredo Kid is now in the ring with X Pac. Laredo Kid goes for the flying head scissors but X Pac slams him down to the canvas. X Pac starts to go for Laredo Kid in the corner but hesitates. X Pac charges, Laredo Kid rolls out of the way and X Pac crotches himself on the ring post. Laredo Kid is back on his feet and goes after X Pac but Abismo Negro enters the ring to help X Pac. Abismo Negro power bombs Laredo Kid to the mat. Laredo Kid rolls out of the ring and Latin Lover comes in to face Abismo Negro. Latin Lover uses a leg sweep to take Abismo Negro down to the mat and goes for the cover but only gets a one count before Abismo Negro powers out. Latin Lover then tries a roll up but again only gets a one count before Abismo Negro is out of the hold. Abismo Negro tries for a roll up maneuver but only gets a one count before Latin Lover kicks out. Abismo Negro goes for a sunset flip off the ropes and this time gets a two count before Latin Lover can power out. Abismo Negro comes off the ropes, Latin Lover shoves him through, Abismo Negro goes down on the mat and slides out face first onto the floor. I should mention that there appear to be no mats outside the ring on the floor area. Latin Lover vaults over the top rope and takes Abismo Negro down to the floor after he manages to get back to his feet. It is now Laredo Kid and X Pac in the ring. X Pac slams Laredo Kid to the mat with a face plant and then goes for the cover. He gets a one count and then grabs Laredo Kid and sits him up to keep from getting the win. X Pac picks Laredo Kid up and has him in the air but Laredo Kid gets the switch, comes down to put X Pac in a roll up and gets the three count.

After the match, Latin Lover brings a huge sombrero into the ring and Killings puts it on to dance around the ring before throwing the hat down and bailing out of the ring.

Another match highly recommended not only for the stars I am used to seeing but also for the AAA workers in the ring.

Fourth Match: Oz, El Cuervo, Espiritu & Escoria (Secta Del Mesias) Vs. Charly Mason, El Zorro & Cibernetico (Hell Brothers)

Winners:
Hell Brothers (with a little help from Chessman)

The members of Secta Del Mesias were not introduced individually so I will have to go look them up. I know Chessman and El Mesias are not in this match because they are in the main event. This is a dome match and I don’t quite have the dome match thing down. It really isn’t the same as a cage match. El Zorro entered the arena in a mask but removed it after he entered the ring. There is no explanation as to why there are four men on the Secta Del Mesias team and only three men on the Hell Brothers team. Manson and Cibernetico brought football helmets to the ring and Secta Del Mesias is using them as weapons. We have a general brawl in the ring but the camera isn’t staying in one place long enough for me to figure out who is working over whom. It appears all the Hell Brothers are down on the mat with the exception of Cibernetico who is being held and beat on by Secta Del Mesias. Cibernetico is fighting back but he doesn’t have much of a chance since he is outnumbered. El Zorro is now on his feet and being beat down by a member of Secta Del Mesias. Cibernetico is dropkicked back down to the mat. I don’t know where Manson is right now. Manson is down on the mat and he is bleeding. There is now a ladder in the ring and it is being used on Cibernetico. One member of Secta Del Mesias is working on El Zorro’s leg. Manson has a hefty cut on his forehead which looks worse due to the white make up he wears. When Secta Del Mesias attempts to stomp on Cibernetico, El Zorro covers his body with his own and takes the stomps for Cibernetico. So far this has been a complete beat down by Secta Del Mesias of the Hell Brothers. El Zorro gets a boot to his face and is back down on the mat, the ladder is being used to choke Manson. El Zorro comes back to take down one of his opponents and then goes after another one. El Zorro is now climbing up the inside of the dome toward the top. He reaches the opening but is having trouble getting out. Oz is right behind him but El Zorro makes it halfway out on top of the dome before he collapses. Oz falls back down to the mat. El Zorro is now working his way down the dome on the outside. Cibernetico is in the ring trying to get to his feet. There is now a table in the ring and Mason has been set up on the table. One member of Secta Del Mesias is climbing up to the top of the dome to drop down on Mason on the table. Cibernetico is back down on the mat. Espiritu is the Secta Del Mesias Member that dropped down on Manson. Our four men are now beating down Cibernetico. Manson is down but I have lost sight of El Zorro. Cibernetico is making a comeback in the ring as he takes down one member of Secta Del Mesias and then takes down two more with a clothesline. He uses a jawbreaker to take down the fourth member and then a spear to one that has gotten back to his feet. He spears another member that gets to his feet and we see Chessman enter the arena and climb the dome from the outside with a rope. He drops the rope down inside the ring and Cibernetico uses it to tie it around Manson to get him out of the ring. Chessman climbs down the rope and into the ring and uses his weight to send Manson up to the top of the dome. Manson is now out of the dome on the top. Chessman is now climbing out as well and Cibernetico is left inside the ring with the four members of Secta Del Mesias. Cibernetico has set up a ladder and then he attempts to climb up the side of the dome. He is taken down by his opponents who are now all on their feet. Chessman is still on the top of the dome waving at someone but I can’t see who or what he is trying to accomplish. Cibernetico is now cornered by his opponents and is down in the ring. Mason is trying to move at the top of the dome but is having trouble doing so. Cibernetico is being stomped by the members of Secta Del Mesias and they decide to use the rope to strangle him while he is down. Chessman is outside on the dome trying to help Manson down to the floor as two members of Secta Del Mesias head to the top of the dome on the inside. Cibernetico is back on his feet and is battling it out with one of his opponents in the ring. Cibernetico is down again and the fourth member of Secta Del Mesias is climbing up the dome but Cibernetico power slams him down to the mat. Cibernetico again goes up the side of the dome and uses the ladder to get higher quicker. Three members of Secta Del Mesias are on the floor and Cibernetico is nearing the top of the dome. He is out of the dome and on top but has not made it to the floor. As Cibernetico is trying to work his way down, Chessman climbs back up to assist Cibernetico down to the floor. Chessman works the fans to get Cibernetico fired up and we see a very bloodied Manson on the floor outside the ring. Chessman is back on the floor and Cibernetico is working his way down to the floor, leaving one member of Secta Del Mesias inside the ring. Cibernetico steps over Manson and Chessman and goes around the ring slapping hands before grabbing a mic. He goes back inside the ring to talk to the members of Secta Del Mesias. It appears that the member left inside the ring will be losing his hair. Chessman has now entered the ring with his rope in hand. Kenzo Suzuki comes running down the entrance ramp and into the ring as the members of Secta Del Mesias attack Cibernetico and Chessman. Killings is right behind Suzuki and he enters the ring as well. Cibernetico is back down on the mat and we see El Zorro enter the ring in his mask with what appears to be a kendo stick. He takes out everyone in the ring with the stick coming to the rescue of Cibernetico and Chessman. He then stops to work the crowd but then he has powder in his hands and he uses it to blind Chessman and then drops Cibernetico with a boot. “El Zorro” removes his mask and Konnan is in the ring as Killings and Suzuki with Secta Del Mesias again begin a beat down of Cibernetico and Chessman. X Pac and Abismo Negro along with the members of Viper Revolution enter the ring to assist in the beat down. El Zorro now appears at the entrance and makes his way to the ring. He can’t get in the door of the dome, he has to go under and climb into the ring. The real El Zorro begins swinging his kendo stick dropping everyone in his path. He is holding everyone back and away from Cibernetico and Chessman including Konnan. Suddenly there is a switch and the bad guys again attack the Hell Brothers in the ring and all three are down. To the rescue is La Parka, Laredo Kid, and some other wrestlers I couldn’t really see. They run Konnan and his crew out of the ring. It appears that El Zorro has aligned himself with Secta Del Mesias and he is shown outside the ring with one member of Secta Del Mesias and Kenzo Suzuki. Espiritu is left in the ring to have his head shaved as El Zorro celebrates with his newfound friends. Killings raises El Zorro’s hand as Espiritu bails out of the ring less his hair. Cibernetico is still down in the ring but I have lost track of Chessman. Chary Manson is being removed from the arena on a stretcher. Cibernetico and Chessman are now at the top of the entrance ramp and security is dragging girls from the audience off of poor Cibernetico. La Parka raises the hands of Cibernetico and Chessman.

El Zorro seems to be making a lot of heel turns in AAA but that didn’t take away from hardcore action in this match. My only complaint was that the dome made it difficult to see what was going on in the ring.

We see clips of the earlier matches from this event.

Disc 2

Gran Apache is watching the matches from earlier this evening on a monitor. He appears to be surprised that Billy Boy was the man under the mask during the first match and that Billy Boy and Faby Apache are back together. To be continued… We see the return of Halloween earlier in the evening (Actually it was during the day. These matches were held in a large outdoor arena and it was daylight during the first part.)

Halloween is on the screen giving everyone a talk. We then see the return of Halloween and his attack on the Mexican Powers.

Abismo Negro is now in front of the camera and again I can’t understand anything that he says but I don’t think it’s good news for someone in AAA.

Fifth Match: Chris Stone, Super Calo, Alan Stone & Bellos Stone Vs. Zumbido, Scorpio, Jr., El Guapito (which consists of one tall and one short wrestler)Guapos V.I.P.

Winners:
Guapos V.I.P.(El Guapito, Zumbido & Scorpio, Jr.)

The first bunch must be the pretty boys of AAA. They all wear shades and Alan Stone brings his own big mirror to the ring so he can look at himself

This second bunch appear to be pretty boys as well. We’ll have to see how they do in the ring. The shorter member of the group goes over to the announcer’s table to schmooz.

No one is wearing a mask in this match but nearly everyone is wearing white. Alan Stone is in the ring but no one seems to want to be in the ring with him. In fact they head up the entrance ramp as if they are going to leave the arena. They are followed up by Alan and they suddenly decide to come back and join the match. Bellos Stone works the crowd to garner support and it appears we may now have a match underway. Super Calo is in the ring with Scorpio and then all six of the men are in the ring. Alan’s head meets the top turnbuckle and he is down. It appears Bellos Stone is getting a beat down. Alan is now outside the ring getting worked over as Gaupos clears the ring. We now have a switch and Bellos Stone was making a little headway when the ref got in the way. Alan is now in the ring alone with his three opponents. Super Calo enters the ring and he too is taken down. Alan is back in the ring but one more time it is three on one as the ref hangs on to Alan. Alan gets out of the way and the ref takes the shot meant for Alan. Alan is fighting back and Bellos Stone is now standing tall in the ring. The ref gets taken to the mat with a back body drop and then receives a dropkick courtesy of Chris Stone. The shorter Guapos member is complaining to the announcers about how the match is going. Alan is now down in the ring again and I don’t believe we have a referee in attendance. Chris Stone is now in the ring as his partners try to get the crowd to get louder. Alan and Chris Stone work together Super Calo joins in to take down their opponents. There is a lot of punching in this match but some nice wrestling maneuvers as well. Once again Bellos Stone has cleared the ring. Gaupos V.I.P. is outside the ring conferring on what to do next. We now have ref in the ring, which may not be a good thing for Bellos Stone. Super Calo is being attacked by a fork and we may have a bleeding forehead. Yes, there is blood and it’s running down his chest. The fork appears to have been used with the ref’s blessing. Super Calo is alone in the ring and it appears Chris and Alan Stone have also been attacked by the metal fork-wielding opponents. Chris Stone is out in the audience and Alan Stone is out on the floor by the announcer’s table. Alan is fighting back but he gets double-teamed. Alan Stone is now back in the ring and being held by the shorter member of Guapos but as one of the members comes off the ropes, Alan gets out of the way and the little guy gets taken down instead. Now Alan has his sights set on the shorter member of Guapos and he pushes the ref back. Chris Stone is in the ring with Alan and Super Calo joins them. I believe all three members of Bellos Stone are bleeding and they are again attacked by their opponents. Everyone is covered with blood.. Once again Guapos misses their mark and take out one of their own members. Bellos Stone is working over their one opponent left in the ring and then they go outside the ring to take the other members. Alan goes for the pin but can’t get the three count and then he springboards over the top rope to take out an opponent on the floor. It appears that Chris Stone had his opponent pinned but the ref was slow on the count. One of the members of Guapos pins Chris Stone and gets the three count.

Juventud Guerrera is now in front of the camera. Sorry, everyone, I don’t understand what he is saying…I think his anger may have been directed at Halloween.

We see that Guapos are still in the ring celebrating their win. And Bellos Stone is on the floor. Alan Stone enters the ring to make sure they don’t attack his teammate who is still down in the ring. One of the announcers holds up a blood-covered piece of paper.

Octagoncito is now in front of the camera and I don’t understand him but he’s serious about what he is saying.

And you HAVE to know why I got this DVD --- SIXTH MATCH! AAA Heavyweight Championship
Chessman (Hell Brothers) Vs. El Mesias (AAA Heavyweight Champion/Legion Extranjera)

Winner:
El Mesias of Legion Extranjera
Still AAA Heavyweight Champion!

There are two ladders set up outside the ring and as El Mesias enters the arena he grabs a sign from someone in the audience and tears it up on his way to the ring. He steps into the ring and points his finger at Chessman and I have to say this is worrisome. Chessman appears to have some height and weight on El Mesias. In fact Chessman has huge arms. I don’t expect this to be a wrestling match. I expect it to be a brawl. AAA does have a nice looking Championship belt. It is carried to the ring, not worn by El Mesias. There is another gentleman in the ring speaking to the crowd and to the wrestlers in the ring. He also speaks to the ref. El Mesias takes the mic and darn I do wish I spoke Spanish now. He gets in Chessman’s face and Chessman smiles at him. Yes, Chessman is bigger than El Mesias. Chessman takes the mic and speaks to the fans and to El Mesias. He gets in El Mesias’s face but only for a second. El Mesias does not look impressed but he is not pleased by what Chessman says. The ref takes the mic and speaks to Chessman. The ref then checks Chessman over for weapons as El Mesias directs the ref. El Mesias refuses to be checked for weapons but does pull a weapon out of his wrestling trunks to hand to the ref. Chessman speaks to El Mesias again and says something about Puerto Rico but I’m not sure what he said. All of the extras leave the ring and it appears that the match will be underway.

El Mesias is introduced by the announcer and then Chessman – for Mexico. We know whom the audience is rooting for and it is not El Mesias who is from Puerto Rico. I didn’t hear the bell ring but El Mesias already has Chessman down on the mat stomping on him. So far it’s all Mesias as he drops Chessman to the mat. El Mesias throws a couple of punches before coming off the ropes. Chessman catches him and power slams him to the mat. El Mesias comes up punching and drops Chessman with a dropkick. Chessman rolls outside the ring and El Mesias suicide dives, sending Chessman and himself into the guardrail and then down to the floor. El Mesias rolls Chessman back into the ring and delivers another stomp while the audience is yelling for Chessman. Chessman delivers a dropkick that sends El Mesias outside the ring and then vaults over the top rope to take him all the way down to the floor. It was a corkscrew swing, but Chessman’s foot caught on the top rope as he went over, slowing him down but not stopping him from dropping El Mesias. Chessman is to his feet and enters the ring with two steel chairs. El Mesias is trying to get up off the floor and back into the ring. As El Mesias enters the ring, Chessman charges with a chair, El Mesias ducks under the chair and goes after a chair of his own. As Chessman turns around, El Mesias throws the chair, catching Chessman in the head. El Mesias picks Chessman up and delivers a straight to hell on a chair laid out on the mat. El Mesias goes for the cover but only gets a two count. Again El Mesias picks Chessman up and this time uses the ropes to choke Chessman. The ref is counting and finally El Mesias breaks his hold. He goes back to stomps while Chessman is still leaning in the ropes. El Mesias picks Chessman up and delivers a suplex, dropping Chessman to the mat. Again he goes for the cover but can’t get the three count. El Mesias stops to show off to the crowd before going back after Chessman. El Mesias puts Chessman’s head on a chair and then goes out on the ring apron where he grabs a ladder and throws it into the ring. He uses the ladder to pound on Chessman – these are full sized ladders – and then picks Chessman up and slams him face first onto the ladder on the mat. He again stops to antagonize the fans. El Mesias picks up Chessman again and slams his head into the ladder and then shows off to the crowd. El Mesias climbs up to the top turnbuckle with his feet on the second rope and dives off with a fist to catch Chessman as he tries to stand up. Again El Mesias points out his handiwork to the audience. El Mesias sets the ladder up in the ring as Chessman tries to roll to the ropes. Chessman is back to his feet and he delivers a drop kick that sends the ladder into El Mesias’s hand. Chessman is again back on his feet and he delivers a kick and then another to El Mesias. Chessman grabs a steel chair and slams it over El Mesias head as El Mesias stands up. Chessman now sets the ladder up in the ring before turning to beat on El Mesias. Chessman picks up Mesias and slams him to the mat then starts to climb up the ladder. El Mesias is back to his feet and he goes after Chessman who is now halfway up the ladder. El Mesias goes outside the ring and up on the top rope to take Chessman down to the mat. It looked like he was going for a neck breaker but lost his grip on the way down. Again El Mesias goes for the cover but only gets a two count before Chessman powers out. El Mesias sets the ladder up in the corner and then picks Chessman up. El Mesias has Chessman by the hair and then he throws fists and an uppercut that sends Chessman down to the mat. El Mesias stands on Chessman and chokes him until the ref breaks it up. El Mesias picks Chessman up again but this time Chessman throws punches to El Mesias’s face, sending him back across the ring. Chessman has El Mesias down on the mat and now he sets the ladder up in the corner and picks up El Mesias. He drops El Mesias to the mat and then climbs up the ropes and then up to the top turnbuckle. He somersaults off the top rope but El Mesias has rolled out of the way and Chessman meets the mat. El Mesias is back to his feet first and he comes off the ropes to deliver a kick to Chessman’s head. El Mesias picks Chessman up by the hair and sends him back on to the mat. He goes for the cover and again only gets a two count before Chessman gets a shoulder up. El Mesias gets up to argue with the ref about the slow count. El Mesias picks Chessman up and throws an uppercut and then another then again chokes Chessman using the ropes. El Mesias tries to send Chessman across the ring and into the ladder but Chessman gets the switch and El Mesias is thrown across the ladder in the corner of the ring. Chessman charges at El Mesias as he stands up but El Mesias sidesteps Chessman and Chessman goes face first into the ladder buckling it. The ref checks on Chessman. Chessman acts like he hurt his shoulder when he hit and is having trouble getting to his feet. I’m having trouble deciding who Chessman is in the ring with since the announcer keeps referring to El Mesias as Ricky Banderas. El Mesias now has a chair and is working on a still downed Chessman, beating on Chessman’s injured shoulder. El Mesias now has Chessman’s arm in a submission hold but the ref makes him break the hold. And checks on Chessman. El Mesias again goes for the submission hold and again the ref makes El Mesias break the hold. Chessman is trying to get to his feet and he does. El Mesias comes off the ropes and goes for the straight to hell but Chessman catches him with one arm and slams him to the mat. Chessman now has a steel chair and he nails El Mesias on the head and then comes off the ropes. El Mesias sends Chessman up and over the top rope but Chessman lands on the ring apron. As El Mesias comes at Chessman, he tries to throw a shoulder block but El Mesias gets a boot up and sends Chessman down to the mat. Ell Mesias climbs out on the ring apron and picks Chessman up again by his hair and works the crowd. El Mesias drops off the ring apron slamming Chessman’s head down as he goes. El Mesias has grabbed a table outside the ring and is setting it up –- too far away from the ring and I say that for a reason – he then pulls Chessman out onto the floor and then goes around the ring to grab a chair to come back and nail Chessman on the head not once, not twice, but three times, before sending Chessman back and onto the table. El Mesias climbs back inside the ring and goes to the opposite side of the ring as the ref goes out to check on Chessman. El Mesias has grabbed the other ladder sitting outside the ring and sets it up in the ring. He begins to climb the ladder and as he nears the top he stops to show off again to the crowd. The ladder is shaky – and I know what’ s coming – as El Mesias reaches the top and leaps – the ladder falls backward making El Mesias dive short and he hits the concrete floor on his back. Chessman falls off the table and rolls El Mesias over on top of him. Both men are getting back to their feet, Chessman stops to fold up the table as El Mesias rolls back into the ring. Chessman slides the table into the ring. El Mesias is down on the mat. Chessman is back to his feet as El Mesias uses the ropes to get back to his feet. Chessman throws a punch but El Mesias ducks and comes back with a punch to Chessman, Chessman delivers a boot to El Mesias’s midsection, then uses a set of brass knuckles to nail El Mesias and go for the cover. Chessman gets the three count and it appears he has won the championship. However, the ref has found the brass knuckles and asks the audience who say it wasn’t Chessman’s weapon and Chessman is denying it but the ref isn’t buying it. The ref reverses his decision and holds up El Mesias hand (El Mesias is still down on the mat). El Mesias is the AAA Heavyweight Champion. Immediately attendants are at ringside with a stretcher for El Mesias. The champ will not be leaving the ring under his own power after that ladder fall. Chessman is in the ring with a steel chair and he is not happy. He goes after one of the attendants and then goes after El Mesias (if you look closely those were not hard hits) as El Mesias is removed from the arena. It appeared that El Mesias had a cut on his back but I couldn’t be certain because of the shadows of the attendants surrounding him. Chessman is still in the ring and is not happy that he lost the championship match. The crowd is behind Chessman. The announcer is back in the ring and tells Chessman that El Mesias is the Champion, but Chessman takes the mic and points out that he pinned El Mesias and got the three count. The fans are again behind Chessman and believe he should have the AAA title but the officials do not agree and they leave the ring with the belt and Chessman kneels in the ring.

I purchased this DVD initially for the El Mesias championship match but believe that all of the matches were fantastic. As for this final match, seeing El Mesias hit the concrete floor was sickening and I have no idea how he managed to get back to his feet inside that ring let alone take any more punishment at the hands of Chessman, but you have to admit both of these men put on a great match.

I have a great respect for Chessman after seeing this match. I believe that without his quick thinking the match would never have turned out as great as it did. I highly suggest that if you have not seen Chessman in a match you find one to watch. He’s good – really good. And, of course, El Mesias is great – really great – ladder fall and all.
